adidas Celebrates The Launch Of Its New Store With This NMD “Red Apple”

adidas already had two flagship stores in New York City, one of which has now been closed, while the other is on 620 Broadway. However, considering how successful adidas Originals has been this year, it seems that adidas wishes to expand its footprint with the launch of yet another flagship store in SoHo, Manhattan on 115 Spring Street. Additionally, the Three Stripes will also be opening the Brooklyn Farm Design Studio this fall. As for the new adidas Originals store in SoHo, numerous products and limited-edition collections will be featured there. Among them will be an NMD “NYC” edition, designed in celebration of the new store’s opening.

adidas NMD R1 PK “Red Apple”-2It has also been reported that various curated events and installations will also be frequently hosted at this new adidas Originals store, including an appearance and performance by Joey Bada$$. While adidas representatives have not confirmed this, rumors have been circulating that the Brooklyn Farm Design Studio is a 20,000-square-foot facility situated in Williamsburg above the Brooklyn Brewery. The limited and special edition NMD colorway that adidas has whipped to celebrate the new store’s launch has been dubbed “Red Apple” after NYC’s famous nickname and is dressed up in a color schemes that lives up to that nickname.

The uppers of this particular NMD are completely knitted and covered in a vivid Red hue along with a camouflage print. “NEW YORK” is featured on the signature TPU heel tabs of this NMD rendition. Since a total of 200 pairs of this NMD edition have been produced, a number between 001 and 200 is embroidered on the sockliner of each right shoe, while 200 is embroidered on the sockliner of each left shoe.

adidas NMD R1 PK “Red Apple”-3Sneakerheads in the five boroughs of New York, namely the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Staten Island and Queens, will be able to reserve this sneaker via adidas Confirmed app starting from August 15th. Once reserved, they will be able to purchase their reserved pair(s) for $170 by visiting the new adidas Originals store on 115 Spring Street once it opens.
