Michael Jordan was 32 years old when he returned to the NBA back in 1995. The time period during which Michael Jordan returned was a time when the world of sports, especially the world of professional basketball, needed a player like to be a part of the league. At the time, Michael Jordan had not performed in a professional basketball game for almost 18 months. While Michael Jordan would go on to retire from basketball once again in January 1999, his first return to the NBA was quite memorable. Apparently, Jordan Brand has whipped up an Air Jordan 10 colorway that draws inspiration from that period of MJ’s career.
At the time, the Internet barely existed. Therefore, on March 18th, 1995, Michael Jordan released a statement via fax, which simply read at the end, “I’m back.” Michael Jordan really did make quite a statement with that simple, two-word statement, taking the world of sports by storm. Thus, Michael Jordan rejoined the Chicago Bulls and this time, he played with the number “45,” which happened to be his number during his professional baseball career. Michael Jordan’s actually boosted the team’s odds of winning the NBA title that year to quite an extent. Even though the roster varied, the Chicago Bulls were more than glad to have Michael Jordan back.
The Air Jordan 10 colorway featured here, which is inspired by Michael Jordan’s first return to the NBA back in 1995, has been dubbed “I’m Back.” The single photo of the sneaker that is accompanying this post was shared on Instagram by LN5factory (). Over all, this Air Jordan 10 iteration appears to be sporting a basic, simple Black and White color scheme. Its leather uppers appear to be predominantly clean White, while Black covers the ankle collars, eyestays and tongues. Last but not least, the heel pull tabs have “3.18.95” and “I’m Back” embroidered onto them in Red-colored font, inspired by Michael Jordan’s fax statement.
Based on reports, this brand new colorway is scheduled to join next year’s Jordan releases 2018. These reports also suggest that the Air Jordan 10 “I’m Back” will be available next year for $190.
