Within the sneaker community, Tinker Hatfield is widely recognized as the legendary sneaker designer who crafted models like the Air Jordan 3, Air Jordan 11, Air Max 90, and countless others. However, something that sneakerheads may not know about is the fact that before becoming a Nike designer, Tinker was a member of the Oregon Ducks. He represented the University of Oregon as one of their leading track and field. That explains why Jordan Brand has frequently gifted player exclusive Air Jordan sneakers to the Oregon Ducks. The latest one is the special PE variation of the Air Jordan 12 “Wool” that hit the shelves this past October.
Back in 2011, Tinker Hatfield had unique concepts so that athletes would have suitable footwear to wear while traveling. That was the first time that Tinker whipped some Air Jordan Player Exclusives for the athletes of the University of Oregon. According to Tinker himself, he felt that the Ducks were missing something and he thought that exclusive Air Jordan sneakers would add some excitement to the team. Ever since, numerous classic and iconic Air Jordan silhouettes have received the Oregon Ducks treatment, such as the Air Jordan 3, Air Jordan 4, Air Jordan 5, Air Jordan 9, Air Jordan 14, Air Jordan 29 and even the Jordan Melo M10.
The Air Jordan 12 “Wool” was somewhat of a premium release that retailed at a price of $200 on October 1st. The photos of its Oregon Ducks PE variation that can be seen here were shared on Twitter by and Overall, this version resembles the one that had arrived at retailers earlier since its Greyish-Black uppers are made up of a combination of leather and wool. The difference is that each of its tongues feature an embroidered “Ducks” logo. Furthermore, the inner back pull tabs also bear Tinker Hatfield’s autograph.
Despite the special differences, sneakerheads should not feel to envious of this exclusive version if they already copped a regular pair of this sneaker. In any case, it should be obvious that this Air Jordan 12 “Wool” Oregon Ducks PE will not be available to the general public.
