It is somewhat evident by now that Russell Westbrook is Jordan Brand’s poster child at the moment, especially for the Air Jordan 31, but Kawhi Leonard is not far behind. In late June, Kawhi had made an appearance in a Snapchat story on Jordan Brand’s account, where he had showcased two never-before-seen Air Jordan 30 PE iterations. That Snapchat story also marked the very first time that the Air Jordan 31 had been mentioned, back when the latest model had not yet been unveiled. Instead of Russell Westbrook, it is Kawhi who gets to rock the latest Air Jordan 31 colorway, while also previewing another sneaker.
Over the past three NBA seasons, Kawhi Leonard has gradually evolved. Initially, it had seemed like the only thing he is good at is being defensive, but as of now, he is one of the league’s finest all-around offensive players. As a result of his performance in the 2014 NBA Finals, he had earned the MVP Award, and he had really exceeded expectations in the following 2014–15 NBA season. Kawhi further proved to be worthy of being award another MVP from his spectacular performance in the recent 2015–16 NBA season. No wonder, he also happens to be one of Jordan Brand’s star athletes.
Just recently, a tweet had been posted on Jordan Brand’s Twitter account , which is basically a video accompanied by the caption “Reject gravity. #AJXXXI.” In the video, Kawhi Leonard can be seen soaring through the air as he makes a dunk while laced up in the Air Jordan 31 “Fine Print.” However, it is not the only Air Jordan sneaker that makes an appearance in this clip. The clip provides a quick glimpse at the Air Jordan 1 OG “Black/White.”
There is no way of knowing what that means. Perhaps the Black- and White-colored Air Jordan 31 “Fine Print” draws some inspiration from it, or maybe Jordan Brand may bring back that original Air Jordan 1 colorway. Keep checking back to find out.
