While attending the event at the Nike Basketball Academy, LeBron James was wearing an unknown pair of never-before-seen Nike kicks, which looked like they belonged to his own signature sneaker line. It is being speculated that the sneaker King James was sporting was indeed the LeBron 13. Something that further affirms these speculations is the fact that Nike Basketball has actually been attempting to prevent a premature leak. They actually blurred the sneakers from view in photos from the event that were shared on their social media channels. This probably makes sneakheads wonder how Nike even permitted LeBron James to lace up in the latest installment in his signature series, and one likely answer is that it was a test pair.
Moreover, the sneaker LeBron James had on his feet also strikingly resembled a vague catalog photo of the LeBron 13 that was leaked not so long ago. While Nike Basketball has still not officially unveiled the sneaker, much clearer photos of the kicks have now surfaced online, making it obvious that LeBron James did was indeed wearing the LeBron 13. From the looks of it, the latest installment consists of a “Zoom Leap System,” which apparently a new Nike technology, while it apparently also contains “Hex-Max” or Hex-Zoom cushioning and a linked propulsion to zoom. The debuting colorway of the LeBron 13 appears to be predominantly berry-colored with traces of black and white.
In the past, the price of Nike LeBron sneakers used to range between $110 and $150 and as of lately they have been retailing for as much as $200. However, apparently Nike has further raised the price point, so the LeBron 13 will likely retail for $220 when hits the shelves for the very first time on one of the upcoming Nike release dates 2015, i.e. October 10th according to rumors.
