Most, if not all, sneakerheads reading this must have already watched Marvel’s Black Panther, which was released in theaters worldwide last month. Ever since, the film has become somewhat of a cultural phenomenon, and to celebrate it, Jimmy Jazz and New Balance joined forces to bring forth two limited, special sneaker releases. Jimmy Jazz is a retailer specializing in shoes, streetwear and urban clothing, while New Balance should not require any introduction. One of Jimmy Jazz’s many stores is located in New York City on 163-21/23 Jamaica Ave. Recently, Jimmy Jazz is scheduled to host a huge Air Jordan restock at this particular location.
The limited collection that celebrated the release of Black Panther included two special colorways of the New Balance 574 Sport and the New Balance 990v4 Mid. Both sneakers were designed to mimic the appearance of King T’Challa‘s vibranium costume. Hence, they were both dressed up predominantly in Black, with 3M and Metallic Silver-colored detailing throughout. The 574 Sport was made up of knit materials and rugged leather, while the 990v4 Mid was made up of Cordura materials and premium pig suede. Both of these sneakers were also equipped with Marvel lace keepers, while also featuring the Black Panther logo.
As for the huge Air Jordan restock, it is taking place to commemorate the grand opening of the new flagship store that Jimmy Jazz set up in Jamaica, Queens. Popular Air Jordan Retro releases from the recent past that will be restocked there include the Air Jordan 1 “Banned,” the Air Jordan 11 “72-10,” the Air Jordan 12 “French Blue,” and plenty of others. Some previous Nike releases are also a part of this restock. Wristbands for entry into the grand-opening event and being able to cop one of the restocks have already been distributed. The event itself is taking place between March 2nd and 3rd.
