Sneakerheads always feel delighted about the return of sneakers that were once fan favorites, especially when both basketball and footwear culture were greatly influenced by them. As of lately, whenever it has been time for a new Nike release 2015, Nike Basketball has received within their vault in order to bring back an old classic. One such classic that will likely be making a comeback later this month is the Nike Air Zoom Flight 95.
Many sneakerheads probably recall that back in the 90s; Nike was avidly endorsing stars of the NBA like Jason Kidd. Although Jason Kidd retired from the NBA back in 2013, his legacy and the classic sneakers that he laced up in throughout his career continue to be remembered. Readers will likely agree that the Nike Air Zoom 95 was the best sneaker ever to be worn by Jason Kidd, which also happened to be his signature basketball shoe. 2015 marks the 20th Anniversary of the Air Zoom Flight 95 and 20 years later, it is still among Nike’s most futuristic designs ever to have been created.
When the Air Zoom Flight 95 debuted, the upper featured carbon fiber support, the sculpted midsole sported “bug eyes,” and for the very first time, Nike had introduced the Zoom Air cushioning technology. In the past, merely the midfoot of Nike sneakers had carbon fiber support shanks included. However, the Air Zoom Flight 95 for the first to have an upper made up of flexible and thin carbon fiber for lightweight support. The large “bug eyes” were perhaps the boldest and most unique design feature that Nike had added to the sneaker. Of course, the returning retro will also be equipped with all these features and will hit the shelves in the same iconic, original black and white colorway.
Apparently, the overseas Nike release 2015 of the classic Nike Air Zoom Flight 95 will be taking first, some time later this year on a yet unconfirmed date. It is being speculated that the returning sneaker will also arrive at stateside retailers shortly after.
