The fragment design x Air Jordan 1 High resembling the model’s OG “Royal” colorway that arrived three years ago was one of 2014’s biggest releases. The sneaker originally hit the shelves on December 27th, 2014 and it unexpectedly return once again last month. END Clothing held a raffle as a part of their new END Launches internal platform to distribute the fragment design x Air Jordan 1 High to the winners. The draw came to an end on January 20th. While that sneaker may not arrive at retailers again any time soon, apparently a brand new fragment design x AJ1 “Bred” is joining upcoming Air Jordan releases 2017.
Back in August 2015, it was being rumored that fragment design and Jordan Brand were jointly working on another Air Jordan 1 High colorway, this time a “Black Toe” iteration. Along with photos of the sneaker leaked by Instagram users and , there was also one of an inner tongue tag that mentioned the name of the sneaker as the Air Jordan 1 x Fragment “Black/Varsity Red-White.” The sneaker was dressed up in the classic Chicago Bulls-inspired color scheme, with its “Black Toe” nickname referring to the Black-colored overlays surrounding its toe boxes. Oddly enough, there has been no news of that sneaker ever since.
The latest rumor is that Jordan brand and Hiroshi Fujiwara are collaborating once again to design yet another fragment design x AJ1 High iteration. This time, it seems that they have chosen the iconic “Bred” color scheme that sneakerheads are very familiar with. One of the above photos offers a glimpse of the actual sneaker and it can be seen that its smooth leather uppers are dressed up in Black and Red. In addition to the Jordan “Wings” logo, fragment design’s “lightning” branding can also be spotted, embossed near the ankle of the featured shoe.
Hopefully, unlike 2014’s fragment design x AJ1 High “Black Toe” that seems to have vanished, this latest fragment design x Jordan Brand release will actually make it to retailers. Once the fragment design x Air Jordan 1 High “Bred” is officially unveiled, it will be confirmation that it will indeed be a part of this year’s Jordan releases 2017.
