Back in mid-April of this year, in the last game before retiring from the sport, Kobe Bryant had stolen the shoe by scoring 60 points. It was also the last game of the year for the Golden State Warriors and they also excelled at impressing everyone. It was quite a historic season for the Warriors that came to its conclusion with a 73-9 finish as they defeated the Memphis Grizzlies by 125-104. Prior to this game, the Chicago Bulls held the record for the most victories in a regular season during their 1995–96 season in which Michael Jordan had rocked the Air Jordan 11 “Concord.”
By breaking the Bulls’ 72-10 record, the Warriors cemented their place amongst the best NBA teams of all time. Regardless of the debates that followed, it cannot be denied that the Warriors accomplished tremendous things in 2016. With Kevin Durant a part of roster, the future is definitely bright for the Warriors. Of course, the achievement of the Chicago Bulls will never be forgotten, considering that it took nearly 20 years for their record to be broken. Considering the historic nature of that 1995–96 season, the Air Jordan 11 “Concord” that Michael Jordan had worn has become equally historic.
It was 20 years ago that Michael Jordan had laced up in the Air Jordan 11 “Concord,” leading the Chicago Bulls to perhaps the most landmark season in the history of the sport. Last year, Jordan Brand paid tribute to the Bulls’ 72-10 record with the Holiday 2016 Air Jordan 11 release, but for many sneakerheads it has been a dream to own Michael Jordan’s game-worn “Concord” pair. While the Air Jordan 11 “Concord” will not be among 2016’s Air Jordan releases, that dream might actually come true.
The Air Jordan 11 “Concord” that Michael Jordan had worn, complete with his autograph on them, is scheduled to be featured at SCP Auctions on August 3rd. There will most likely be quite a few avid collectors bidding on the pair, so it will probably sell for an outrageously high price by the time the auction ends.
