Just because they are living in the modern era does not mean that sneakerheads will never be able to get their hands on vintage basketball shoes. Basketball sneakers from the past continue to return, whether it is the adidas Crazy 2 that Kobe Bryant once laced up in or the Nike Zoom Flight 98 that made its successful comeback last year. While sneakerheads are probably already feeling far too nostalgic because of all the returning kicks from the 90’s, but they should prepare for another vintage Nike release 2015 because the Nike Air Hawk Flight will be back soon too.
Many sneakerheads regard the Nike Air Hawk Flight that Eric Avar had designed as Gary Payton’s signature basketball sneaker, but that was not the case. However, there is no doubt that Gary Payton used to regularly lace up in the Air Flight Hawk back in 1997. This was the reason that the Nike Air Hawk Flight became so popular and this is likely the reason that Nike has decided to bring it back after such a long time. Many sneakerheads perhaps even recognize the Air Hawk Flight because of how bulky the sneaker looks and its signature elements like the metallic lateral support wing.
The returning Nike Air Flight Hawk colorway is the same one that Gary Payton used to wear back in 1997. Its upper is predominantly dressed up in crisp white, while traces of black can be spotted throughout. The side panels feature some chrome detailing, while the Nike branding featured on the side panels and the tongue, and the outsole itself are all covered in red.
The fact of the matter is that not only is the Nike Air Flight Hawk is returning this year; it will also be arriving at retailers in another colorway as well. A “He Got Game” Themed Pack that Nike will drop this year includes both a Nike Air Foamposite “Pearl” and an Air Flight Hawk rendition. The Nike release 2015 of this OG the Nike Air Flight Hawk colorway has already taken place and it is currently available at select Nike retailers.
