Kanye West’s influence on the fashion and footwear industry cannot be denied. As avid sneakerheads may already know, he was once signed with Nike. His first signature model with Nike was the Air Yeezy 1, which arguably changed the entire landscape of modern day footwear. The Nike Air Yeezy I had made its retail debut in three different colorways. Following up on the popularity of the Air Yeezy 1, Nike then introduced the Air Yeezy 2 and perhaps one of its most most popular colorways was the “Red October.” Even though the Air Yeezy silhouette are history now, Nike has decided to bring back the “Red October” color scheme.
Many sneakerheads reading this probably recall that the release of the Nike Air Yeezy 2 “Red October” was quite a surprise. What was not surprising was the fact that all the pairs of the sneaker sold out online within no time following its quickstrike launch. Yet, in the beginning of September of this year, a single Air Yeezy 2 “Red October” pair somehow made its way to Walmart’s Sole-Unlimited LCC online shop. Of course, it should be obvious that the sneaker is no longer available. That Nike Air Yeezy 2 “Red October” pair was eventually sold at an outrageous and whopping price of $6,499.
Nike recently brought back classic OG colorways of the Air Force 1 Low in retro form, namely the “Linen” and “NYC” ones, both of which were released in limited quantities. No wonder the low-top version of the model has been drawing all the attention towards itself. However, Nike has not forgotten the Air Force 1 Mid. It almost seems as if the all-Red sneakers trend is re-establishing because the Air Force 1 Mid is receiving the “Red October” treatment too. Judging from photos shared by the JoJo.jp, the sneaker will indeed be dressed up entirely in a vibrant Red hue.
Lots of sneakerheads probably already have all-Red kicks as a part of their sneaker collection, but it is never too late to add more. Those interested will have to wait because Nike has not yet revealed when exactly this Air Force 1 Mid “Red October” will be making its retail debut.
