The Air Max 90, or the Air Max III as it was known back then, officially made its retail debut back in 1990. It debuted in the “Hyvent Orange” colorway, which has ever since been nicknamed “Infrared” and is more popularly known by that nickname today. Before deciding upon that “Infrared” hue that sneakerheads recognize today, Nike actually tested a wide range of other shades of red. Surprisingly though, even though the original colorway has become known as “Infrared,” the Air Max 90 has never actually been dressed up in the true Infrared shade. Of course, that does not change the iconic nature of the model.
The latest colorway of the Air Max 90 that Nike has whipped up does not actually have a fancy nickname. However, it has definitely designed to be cozy and warm enough to be worn during fall. Its uppers are apparently made up of synthetic woolen material dressed up in Cool Grey and Wolf Grey hues. Mushroom and Pewter hues cover the leather overlays that can be spotted throughout, giving the silhouette a really fall-themed color scheme. Last but not least, plain White also appears over the front and back of its midsoles, while the Air Max units are clearly visible.
In the Northern Hemisphere, the Autumn Equinox will begin on September 22nd, 2017. Hopefully, this upcoming Nike Air Max 90 colorway will also hit the shelves around the same time and it is expected to retail at a price of $120.
