The Air Jordan 13 is one of the best basketball sneakers to have ever been released and not just among those by Jordan Brand. The 1997-98 NBA season during which the Air Jordan had made its retail debut had also been the last time that Michael Jordan had performed as a member of the Chicago Bulls. As would be the case with any other model from Jordan Brand’s signature line, the OG colorways of the Air Jordan 13 are definitely the most iconic. Sneakerheads likely know that 2017 will mark the Air Jordan 13’s comeback in two OG colorways, but there is another original iteration that is returning too.
It was in the beginning of December 2015 that shared a few photos on Twitter, which included a glimpse of the Air Jordan 13 “Chutney,” hinting towards its potential return in the near future. Originally, Jordan Brand had dropped this Air Jordan 13 colorway back in 1998 and initially, last year it had been assumed that it would make its comeback among 2016’s Jordan releases. Just last month, also revealed on Twitter that the Air Jordan 13 “Flint” from 1998 would also be returning, likely during the 2017 Labor Day Weekend. It had received the retro treatment twice before, back in 2005 and 2010.
However, those are not the only two Air Jordan 13 colorways that sneakerheads can expect to be able to get their hands on in 2017. Judging from photo shared by quite a reliable source, i.e. , next year is also likely going to mark the return of the Air Jordan 13 “White/Varsity Red.” Since this particular colorway is also an OG, so it too made its retail debut back in 1998, but Jordan Brand has never dropped a retro of this iteration. It features tumbled leather uppers that are predominantly clean White, but it also sports Black accents and the Varsity Red hue appears over its heels, midsoles and suede overlays.
So far, Jordan Brand has not really revealed exact dates on which any of these Air Jordan 13 colorways are going to arrive at retailers. As for this “White/Varsity Red” rendition, it is being reported that it will be among upcoming Jordan releases 2017.
