Back in November 2016, adidas Originals and Pharrell Williams unveiled their special, collaborative Hu Holiday Collection for that year. The apparel that were a part of this capsule featured geometric designs in combination with graphics, making them look rather sleek. Despite lacking footwear, this men’s collection included accessories, coaches jackets, pants, tees, track tops and sweats. All of them sported a balance between adidas designs and Pharrell’s style. Trefoil branding accompanied the geometric patterns and overall prints that were the highlight of this collection. In recent times, Pharrell has laced up in several unreleased adidas NMD “Human Race” colorways and here he can be seen rocking another one.
Back in September 2016, adidas also dropped five different colorways of the Pharrell x NMD Human Race. Along with featuring varying, the five iterations each had a unique nickname. The Black-colored one was dubbed “HUMAN / SPECIES,” the Green-colored one “Hu / Hu,” the Scarlet-colored one “Hu / RACE,” the Sharp Blue-colored one “HUMAN / BEING” and the Tangerine-colored one was dubbed “HUE / MAN.” Along with the aforementioned collection, these sneakers commemorated the global cultural diversity and reflected on humanity. All five of those sneakers came with curved collars, combination lace system-stabilizer cages, reflexology-inspired insoles and two-piece Primeknit uppers that had bold kaji graphics printed over them.
Pharrell Williams recently shared a photo of the latest adidas NMD Human Race colorway on his official Instagram account (). This sleek NMD Human Race iteration appears to have Beige- or Tan-colored uppers. It also appears to be equipped with Blue-colored laces, while an Orange hue appears over lacing cage system and the EVA inserts present over its all-White, full-length Boost sole units. Last but not least, the words “Breathe” and “Walk” can be spotted over the left and right shoe, respectively.
The fact that Pharrell himself is laced up in this adidas NMD Human Race colorway, maybe it is an exclusive, or perhaps he is previewing an upcoming Hu Collection for 2017. Additionally, the Pharrell x adidas NMD Human Race colorway seen below, which is dressed up predominantly in vibrant Shock Pink will soon arrive at retailers too. The Japanese text featured on its toe boxes translates to “Human Race.”
