This past Sunday, the backup centers of the New York Knicks were in a bit of a predicament, considering that Joakim Noah got ruled out due to being ill. Fortunately, the Knicks had Carmelo Anthony to lead them towards defeating the Atlanta Hawks, with a score of 104-94, which marked the team’s fourth consecutive home victory. Despite having his own signature line with Jordan Brand, Carmelo has also laced up in exclusive Air Jordan pairs from time to time. If sneakerheads recall, Carmelo had received an Air Jordan 11 “Red” PE back in 2014 and apparently, Jordan Brand might eventually drop a similar variation of that exclusive sneaker.
Over the course of Sunday’s game, Carmelo scored a total of 31 points, living up to the his reputation and maintaining his peak performance, as it has been throughout this season. In a game against the Washington Wizards that took place on Friday, the Knicks wound up losing. This explains Carmelo’s aggressive performance and all the tough shots he hit two days later during Sunday’s game. Despite not being a morning person, Carmelo wanted to get this particular game going early. It was because of him that the Knicks had a 24-20 by the time the first quarter came to an end.
Back in November 2015, rumors had been circulating that Jordan Brand could end up dropping the Red- and White-colored Air Jordan 11 that had originally been designed as a PE for Carmelo Anthony. It was supposedly going to be a part of the “Ultimate Gift of Flight Pack” for last year’s Holiday Season, but that did not turn out to be the case. Although not the same sneaker, Instagram user recently shared a leaked photo of another Air Jordan 11 iteration that looks quite similar. Unlike Carmelo Anthony’s PE though, this one appears to be an all-White colorway of the eleventh model with subtle Gold-colored detailing.
Sneakerheads are probably eager to get their hands on this sneaker and it rather early for it to have been leaked like this. It seems that this particular Air Jordan 11 rendition will be among the Holiday Jordan releases 2017, although Jordan Brand could potentially drop it earlier than that.
