Back in Fall 2016, adidas unveiled and eventually released the Ultra Boost 3.0. In March 2017, sneakerheads received their very first preview of the Ultra Boost 4.0. The adidas Ultra Boost 4.0 made its retail debut in December 2017, just in time for last year’s holiday season. Compared to the Ultra Boost 3.0, the profile of the 4.0 is a bit sleeker. Additionally, adidas upgraded Primeknit construction of the uppers for the Ultra Boost 4.0, which sported pinstripe detailing throughout. At the same time though, the Ultra Boost 4.0 was still equipped with full-length Boost sole units, the signature “Three Stripe” caging system and TPU heel counters. The adidas Gazelle is one of the brand’s most prominent, classic low-top models. Perhaps that is why adidas launched a major PR campaign last year to promote the Gazelle, along with dropping quite a lot of retro colorways of the silhouette. The origins of the adidas Gazelle can be traced back to the brand’s training designs from the 1960s. The use of dyed suede instead of colored leather made the Gazelle appear considerably more vibrant than training shoes that came before it. Now in 2017, the adidas Gazelle seems to have received quite the luxurious treatment as it has arrived as a part of a “Crafted” Package. As sneakerheads may recall, not too long ago adidas Originals unveiled a “Burgundy Red” colorway of the EQT Support 93/17, which was revealed to be a JD Sports exclusive. This “Burgundy Red” iteration looked quite luxurious, with its Primeknit uppers dressed predominantly in a deep shade of Burgundy. Its Primeknit uppers also featured Grey-colored detailing, looking like an 8-bit pattern, while its heels were made up of matching Burgundy-colored suede. It was also equipped with TPU support cages, Ortholite sockliners, suede medial panels and BOOST midsoles. This time around, it seems adidas Originals is preparing to drop two EQT Support 93/17 colorways as a part of a “Welding” Pack. he adidas Iniki Runner is without a doubt one of the brand’s most popular running shoes. Earlier this month, adidas Originals revealed that Iniki Runner was receiving a complete makeover for the Fall/Winter season, being transformed into a completely brand new model dubbed the I-5923. Apart from the Iniki Runner, the I-5923 also draws inspiration from running shoe models that have been in the adidas archive. Perhaps sneakerheads thought that the I-5923 would be the only brand new running model that adidas would unveil by the time 2017 ended. However, it turns out that adidas has whipped up another revamped variation of the Iniki Runner, dubbed the N-5923. There was merely a single collaboration between adidas and BAPE this year in 2017. Technically, rumors about the two BAPE x adidas NMD R1 iterations had been circulating since back in June 2016 and they actually made their retail debut on November 26th last year, the day after Black Friday, but not in Europe. For some reason, the arrival of the BAPE x adidas NMD R1 collaborative release in Europe got delayed and postponed until this year, and the two sneakers finally hit the shelves in January 2017. It seems that the latest collaboration between adidas and BAPE will revolve around the Dame 4. Continue reading This BAPE x adidas Superstar BOOST “Camo” Pack Will Debut Somewhere In 2018
It seems unlikely that Nike will be dethroned in the world of sneakers. Nike’s footwear division generated worldwide revenue of approximately $20 billion back in 2016. adidas was and still is the second largest athletic footwear company in the world, but back in 2016, it had generated slightly more than half of Nike’s revenue that year. In 2017 though, adidas managed to surpass Nike’s Jordan Brand, becoming the second largest athletic footwear seller in the United States. The adidas Yeezy line has actively contributed in the brand’s rise in popularity. With 2017 nearing its end, it seems that adidas is ready to upgrade the Yeezy Boost 350 for next year. Back in September 2017, Pharrell Williams was spotted laced up in a never-before-seen iteration of the adidas NMD Human Race. The unknown colorway he was seen rocking appeared to pay reference to quite an important quote from the U.S. Pledge of Allegiance, namely “For liberty and justice for all.” The right shoe had “LIBERTY” printed over it and the left one had “JUSTICE,” both in bold, capital font. The Black-colored text contrasted well with the Tan-colored sneakers. While Pharrell and adidas have continued to collaborate every now and then, it seems that Chanel is joining in for this latest, upcoming release of the NMD Human Race.
