size?, one of UK’s leading providers of accessories, clothing and footwear, has collaborated with adidas numerous times. Back in September 2016, adidas and size? Teamed up to collaboratively design two exclusive colorways of the Superstar 80s. Premium nubuck and tumbled leather was utilized for both iterations, both of them dressed up in subtle Black and White and all-White color schemes, respectively. They also featured laser engraved trefoil tongue branding, rubberized toes and vulcanized soles. As of lately, size? seems to have been working with adidas Originals on the Gazelle GTX and two of the new colorways are scheduled to arrive at retailers later this month.
It was back in the late 60s when adidas had originally introduced the Gazelle and the training shoe quickly became a revolutionary milestone within the adidas Classics brand. Originally, the adidas Gazelle model had uppers made up of premium suede and its tongues featured the adidas trefoil branding, and the silhouette has retained these characteristics to this day. Ever since its debut, adidas has dropped multiple colorways of the the Gazelle over the years and in place of premium suede, various other materials have also been used for exclusive iterations. As of lately, the Gazelle GTX has been at the center of the latest adidas and size? collaborations.
Back in January of this very year, adidas dropped a Gazelle GTX colorway in collaboration with size?, which was dubbed “Amsterdam.” For sneakerheads who are wondering, the GTX is a reference to the GORE-TEX material utilized for this Gazelle variation. February 17th, 2017 marked the arrival of another Gazelle GTX rendition collectively designed by adidas and size?, this time dubbed “Milan.” Much like these previous ones, the latest size? x adidas Gazelle GTX release is also nicknamed after a prominent capital, namely “Paris.” This one has smooth Blue-colored leather uppers, with a bright and contrasting Red hue covering its heel overlays, the three stripes on its sides and its tongue branding. Furthermore, this sneaker is also equipped with clean, all-White soles, which add an additional touch of contrast.
In case sneakerheads have not figured it out yet, these adidas x size? sneakers were exclusive releases. This means that the “Amsterdam” colorway arrived exclusively in Amsterdam and the “Milan” colorway hit the shelves exclusively in Milan. Thus, the size? x adidas Gazelle GTX “Paris” has also made its retail debut exclusively in Paris on March 3rd, but apparently it will receive a wider in-store and online release on March 10th.
