Michael Jordan is typically recognized as the G.O.A.T. of NBA, but he is more than that. The very next year after his father’s murder, Michael decided retire from professional basketball and pursue a full-time baseball career. Michael Jordan joined the Birmingham Barons and played his first game on April 8, 1994. Even though his minor league baseball career was not as successful as his NBA one, the Birmingham Barons went on to serve as a source of inspiration for numerous “Barons” colorways of various Air Jordan models. JB Drew Inspiration From The Birmingham Barons For This Air Jordan 12 GS

Last week, the Regions Field ceremony took place, where Don Logan was commended for his contributions to the Birmingham Barons and a statue of Willie Mays was unveiled as a dedication to Don. Back in 2015, Don was honored with a Legacy of Leadership award by the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society’s Alabama-Mississippi Chapter. Formerly, Don was also the CEO of Time Inc. and he currently owns the Birmingham Barons. For reasons unknown, Jordan Brand has drawn inspiration from the Birmingham Barons for the latest GS colorway of the Air Jordan 12. This sneaker will be one of August 2016’s upcoming Jordan releases.
