Of course, just because Michael Jordan wore it during one of the “lowlights” of their career does not make the Air Jordan 17 Low “Lightning” any less significant. Instead of getting dunked into the basket, the ball ended up clanking off the rim. While the incident was certainly shocking, the arena also wound up bursting into laughter. Despite all that, the Air Jordan 17 Low “Lightning” is still considered one of the best sneakers from Jordan Brand released during that era of Michael Jordan’s career when he was no longer a member of the Chicago Bulls. Perhaps Jordan Brand’s and SoleFly’s revamped version may prove to be even better.
The Air Jordan 17 OG Low “Lightning” featured its signature Lightning yellow hue exclusively over the heels and midfoot of each shoe. In the case of the SoleFly-exclusive seen here, the Lightning hue covers most of its premium tumbled leather uppers. To add some contrast, Black can also be spotted throughout, covering even its luxurious ostrich skin ankle collars. Last but not least, the chrome strip around its heels is covered in Metallic Silver, while the heels also have SoleFly “SF” branding embroidered onto them.
Considering that this SoleFly x Air Jordan 17 Low is an exclusive, it will probably end up being available in limited numbers, only at SoleFly. However, that will not happen until next year because it will reportedly be joining February’s Jordan releases 2018.
