According to reports, the source of inspiration behind this year’s “Championship” Pack is final game of the 1993 NBA Finals in which the Chicago Bulls ended up being victorious against the Phoenix Suns. It was 23 years ago when Michael Jordan was leading the Bulls with 24 points in Game 6 of the 1993 Finals and twelve minutes later, the Bulls were the champions as a result of defeating Suns with a score of 99-98. It was the third consecutive time that the Chicago Bulls had won the championship and basketball enthusiasts often wonder how they did it.
The nearly all-White Air Jordan 8 from the pack is inspired by the Larry O’Brien trophy, which should explain the fingerprints that can be spotted over the sneaker’s Gold detailing. Holographic/iridescent detailing is also wrapped around the ankles of this sneaker’s White leather uppers. In terms of theme, the nearly all-Black sneaker is relatively simpler since it draws inspiration from the confetti that drops down from the rafters during an NBA championship victory. Apparently, there will be friends and family versions of these two sneakers as well, with the phrases “AGAIN AND AGAIN” and “WORLD CHAMPIONS” featured on the inside of the straps.
Regardless, it does not change the fact that the retail versions are certainly dope and a little bag of confetti will be included in the box with both of these sneakers. Furthermore, Jordanheads will have to pay $250 for each once these sneakers arrive at retailers on June 25th.
