The Nike Air Zoom KD 9 had already been unveiled later in March, but it was only recently in May that Kevin Durant himself rocked his ninth signature sneaker model on the court. While laced up in the sneaker, Kevin Durant led the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 133-105 victory against the Golden State Warriors. The KD 9 is the first silhouette from Kevin Durant’s signature line to feature a Flyknit construction, while also having a visible Zoom Air Unit incorporated into its soles. The model was designed by Leo Chang and now a “University Red/White-Black” iteration of it is set to arrive at retailers very soon.
Primarily, the sneaker is dressed up in a combination of Black and University Red, but sneakerheads who had not laid their eyes on the model yet are likely paying more attention to its construction. Not only are its Black-colored uppers made up of Flyknit, a pattern consisting of a unique, knitted honeycomb structure can also be spotted. A look at the soles makes it obvious that a visible, University Red-colored Zoom Air unit running throughout their lengths. The uppers also sport some White accents, such as the outlining of the Nike Swooshes. Scheduled the hit the shelves on June 20th, just two days after the KD 8 “What The,” this KD 9 “University Red/White-Black” will retail at a price of $150.
