By now, the Air Jordan 12 “French Blue” has even hit the shelves. As for the Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game,” no doubts remains about its return at some point this year, yet further evidence recently surface to further confirm this very fact. On April Fools’ Day, Nike.com made two particular t-shirts available that feature the same “TWO3” logo that was featured on the 2009 version of the Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game,” i.e. the “O” has been replaced with a sick smiley face. Of course, this year’s release will not be sporting that “TWO3” logo, which is a good thing since the sneaker will be an accurate replica of the 1997 OG.
Along with its memorable history of having been worn by an ill Michael Jordan during the 1997 NBA Finals, the Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game” also stands out because of its “Bred” color scheme. Unlike the 2009 re-release, the 2016 version will feature an entirely premium tumbled leather construction like the original, rather than having nubuck in the mix. While most of the uppers, including the inner linings and the tongues will be dressed up in ominous black, contrasting bright red covers the forefoot areas, outsoles, sides and rear ends.
Surely, no doubt should remain about the return of this iconic Air Jordan 12 rendition. However, perhaps the biggest confirm is the fact that May 28 has been announced as the release date for this year’s Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game,” which will apparently retail at a price of $190.
