Nike had designed the “Electrolime” colorway of the Air Foamposite One back in 2012 by drawing inspiration from the Golden State Warriors at the time when Penny Hardaway was still playing for them. Jordan Brand used carbon fiber for portions of the uppers of the sneaker, which were dressed up in an “Electrolime” yellow hue, which is brighter than the “Optic Yellow” hue that the upcoming rendition sports. However, most of the sneaker’s upper was made up of Black-colored mesh and nubuck materials. Icy, translucent outsoles added the finishing touches.
Even if the upcoming Air Foamposite One “Optic Yellow” does not have any connection with the Wu-Tang Clan, the iconic colors of the hip-hop group are quite obviously visible over it. The molded uppers of this Air Foamposite One are predominantly covered in the Optic Yellow hue, while the eye stays, inner linings, sole units and tongues add a touch of ominous Black to its color scheme. While not as bright as the “Electrolime” colorway, the yellow this iteration sports is apparently a truer shade of yellow.
Detailed photos of this sneaker are now available and the fact that no Wu-Tang Clan branding can be spotted should be an obvious indication of the absence of any association between the two. Nonetheless, Nike Air Foampsote One “Optic Yellow” is scheduled to make its retail debut on June 24th at a price of $230.
