The countdown to the world’s greatest sports show has already begun, and those thinking that the situation in Rio de Janeiro could not get any worse might want to think again. With just a couple of weeks remaining until the Rio 2016 Summer Olympic officially begin, it seems that another dangerous problem is now plaguing the entire country. Apparently, some of the beaches in Rio have become breeding grounds for super-bacteria that are resistant to drugs, according to local scientists who made this discovery. Of course, this has not deterred footwear brands like adidas from designing special Olympics-themed footwear.
Sneakerheads may not know this but in terms of traction, latest CrazyLight Boost 2016 is one of adidas’ best models, comparable to the traction offered by Nike’s Kobe 9. The reason behind this is the fact its outsoles feature a combination of dual density Continental rubber and the unique pattern beneath them. The rubber is quite dense and durable, which enables the outsoles to maintain and retain their traction even over dusty surfaces. Part of the rubber is also pliable and softer, which actually further strengthens the grip of the soles. It turns out that the CrazyLight Boost 2016 is adidas’ model of choice for an Olympics-themed sneaker.
In commemoration of the grand occasion, adidas seems to have whipped up a brand new, special iteration of the Crazylight Boost 2016. This rendition of the silhouette has been dubbed “Liberties.” The uppers of the Crazylight Boost 2016 are made up of Primeknit material, while this sneaker also appears to be equipped with full-length BOOST midsoles. Its “Liberties” nickname is probably a reference to the fact that it sports a patriotic color scheme, namely a camouflage pattern consisting of Gray and White hues covering the uppers. Blue and Red accents can also be spotted throughout this sneaker. The sneaker even features James Harden’s and Three Stripes branding too.
While the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics do not officially begin until August, like other footwear brands, adidas is also dropping its very first Olypmics- and USA-themed sneaker early on. Thus, this adidas Crazylight 2016 “Liberties” arrives at retailers this very month on July 16th.
