Undefeated is a veteran name in the streetwear industry that needs no introduction and more than a decade has passed since they have been among the leaders on the left side of the coast. The Nike Cortez also holds a similar rank within the sneaker world, considering that it is one of the brand’s oldest O.G. models, which has stood the test of time. It is not the first time that the Los Angeles-based brand and Nike have joined forces, and their latest collaboration ended up marking the Nike release 2015 of a Undefeated x NikeLab Cortez SP rendition.
Undefeated have a revolutionary and vast resume. Many sneakerheads even consider the Undefeated x Air Jordan 4 the greatest sneaker collaboration that has ever been existed. Similarly, the Cortez is considered Nike’s first iconic shoe that was crafted by Bill Bowerman. Many sneakerheads are probably wondering why Undefeated has never used the Cortez SP as the base model for its previous collaborative projects with Nike. Nonetheless, sneakerheads should be content with the fact that they are finally doing it now and the wait will surely prove to be worthwhile.
The credit for unveiling the Undefeated x NikeLab Cortez SP goes to Hyperbeast. Apparently, this collaboration is meant to be a tribute to the rich streetwear culture of the city of Los Angeles. The nylon and suede upper of this special Cortez iteration is dressed up almost entirely in black with blue and white featured in the form of alternating accents, such as over the Nike Swoosh logos on the side panels. Even if the Cortez has nothing to do with Los Angeles, but this rendition appears to draw inspiration from the L.A. Dodgers. Even an “L” and an “A” is featured on each heel. Some of the readers might already be aware and for those who do not know, the Nike release 2015 of the Undefeated x NikeLab Cortez SP has already taken place on November 5th, so they better hurry and cop a pair.
