Undercover & Nike Have Collaborated To Design This Boot-Inspired Jungle Dunk With Huarache-Like Tooling

Last year, Nike finally ended its six-year hiatus of not having teamed up with Jun Takahashi, the Japanese fashion designer who founded the Undercover label back in 1993. In 2016, Nike and Undercover collaborated in an attempt to revamp and uphaul the way running apparel is perceived in modern times. The Undercover x NikeLab Gyakusou Running line has frequently been updated, featuring unmistakably eye-catching and innovative aesthetic characteristics, all courtesy of Jun Takahashi. Of course, Nike also wants to keep on taking everyday-use, functional aesthetic apparel to the next level. In 2017 though, Undercover is designing a unique Dunk variation in collaboration with Nike.

However, the latest capsule collection that he designed in collaboration was entirely about being comfortable and functional. Jun’s concept and idea behind the Nike Gyakusou Running Collection was to offer stylish options to high fashion enthusiasts as a means of motivating them to incorporate running into their lives. Jun drew inspiration from both natural and urban landscapes, and traditional Japanese shades, for the tonal color schemes of the included sneakers, namely two Nike LunarEpic Flyknit iterations featuring new, unique supportive and water-resistant web overlays.
